Second, how would we know whether they are overpaid or underpaid? To do so, you would have to post information that compares across similar institutions ('peer institutions'). We rank second from bottom... Meaning that WSU seriously stands to lose some of its best professors. We could turn this in to a nice community college, if we want to...

Well we did mention 3 posts below this one that we did not have every WSU employee listed but we do have most (4800+) and hopefully all soon. One could make a judgment that a person is underpaid/overpaid even if they are getting the standard market rate for their position (you might not agree with the market's valuation). We do agree looking at other institutions would be beneficial.
