WSU President Elson Floyd has decided to kick back $100,000 to WSU because of the tough economic times facing the state meaning budget problems for WSU.
From Dnews.com:
"These are exceedingly tough times for my students, faculty and staff,"
Floyd said in a prepared statement released by the university. "We will
be asking them to think more creatively and work harder with less as we
deal with budgetary restraints. It is incumbent upon me to
lead by example."
His salary will go from $725,000 to $625,000 starting Jan 1. While it is easier to give back money when you are earning over a half million a year than say $30k, it is still a commendable move by Floyd. We will see if UW President Mark Emmert, #2 highest paid in the nation, at least matches this move or will a Coug outclass a Husky yet again?
