Has anyone taken Sociology 361, Criminology? I'm thinking about taking it in the spring and I was wondering what kind of class it is. This is going to be my last semester here, so I'm not looking to have to do too much work, but I need upper level electives. If you haven't taken this class, I'd also appreciate suggestions for other upper level but easy courses outside of the Communications department.

Yeah, I took that. I enjoyed it, but like most classes I think that is going to depend upon who is teaching the class. Who do they have lined up as the instructor these days?

That's the thing, they don't have anybody listed to teach it yet. Who did you have? What kind of class was it? Mostly lecture, probably, right? Were there a lot of tests and/or papers? Thanks for responding to this! |

I took it a few years ago, there was a big debate presentation and a few papers and exams. But really, it could be 100% different with another prof. In crim theory classes, you're usually going to have essay exams and papers with a lot of lecture, as long as you're at the undergrad level.

Yeah, next semester is the last semester for my undergrad degree and I'm having trouble picking classes because I have all of my requirements done. It's a major pain. LOL. I just wish that I knew who was teaching it because that would really help me figure out if this is a type of class that I'll like.

I have no clue who the instructor was back in I took it. It was a while ago. He/she probably passed away from old age by now. If I heard the name, I'd recognize it, but otherwise I'm not much help. Sorry.

It's cool, I figured out who's teaching it in the Spring and asked them for more information. After talking to the instructor, I've decided to take the class. Thanks for helping me decide if I would like a class like this, though!
